Juliette Di Bello
Australian soprano Juliette Di Bello is currently a student at The Juilliard School, in the studio of Kevin Short. She holds a Licentiate Diploma (LMusA) in Classical Voice, and was awarded Second Prize in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship, where she was the youngest finalist in the competition’s history. For the Juilliard opera, Di Bello has sung the roles of Madame Herz in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor and Lucia in Nino Rota’s I Due Timidi, and has covered the roles of Aristeo in Luigi Rossi’s Orfeo and Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. She sang Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata, Tosca in Puccini’s Tosca, and Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore for Juilliard’s Scenes Program, and she sang Lily in Chautauqua Opera Conservatory’s production of The Secret Garden. Di Bello has performed with the the Accord Chamber Orchestra on the Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center, as well as with the Accord Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Julien Benichou. She performed again with Maestro Benichou for Washington Opera Society’s Renaissance Romances. In Australia, Di Bello has sung for ABC Classic FM, and has been the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships. Also a composer, Di Bello was selected by Dr Lydia Brown to write for her Liederabend, for which Di Bello premiered her original composition ‘And I Will Reach’. She is the first voice student in Juilliard’s history to have composed for this event.
